Aspen Highlands Ranch is family owned and run by locals, not a distant corporate office. This allows us to give our ranch, and our animals, the unique attention they both deserve. We strive to humanely raise the highest quality, anti- biotic and hormone-free grass fed beef possible.
At Aspen Highlands we are equally committed to sustainable ranching and good land stewardship. As part of that mIssion we actively support the Okanogan Land Trust and the Okanogan Alliance in their efforts to preserve the Okanogan Highlands' unique landscape for future generations.
So what is the "Highlands' difference"? The secret to our amazing beef is twofold. First at Aspen Highlands we pay careful attention to genetics, careful breeding, and humane handling. Our cattle live in large open pastures, and are rotated to maximize their nutrition and to preserve long term quality grazing. The second part of the equation is our herd's special grassland diet. As the saying goes "You are what you eat". Our herd grazes on the Highlands' unique grasslands, a product of the distinct soils, geology, and climate of this special glacier-carved high mountain landscape. Just as wine made from grapes grown in different regions reflects a region's unique characteristics, so do our cattle who are raised and grazed in the Okanogan Highlands.
